<<And what about the big question: Who gets Jerusalem and the Temple
Mount, which the hard-liners on both sides insist only they should have
exclusive possession of?>>

Jeroen suggested
<<Deny both sides the exclusive possession. If they cannot manage to
share those places, place both places under permanent UN control.>>

Ilana
<<UN failed to guard lives. Do you *really* believe that it will succeed
in guarding places? And, as I wrote already - Jerusalem is capital city
of Israel and as things are now - Israel *is* sharing Temple Mount -
Arabs (from many Arab countries and from Israel) have problem with
sharing. What you suggest will translate itself (just as it was when
Jordan had Temple Mount and, theoretically, gave "freedom of worship to
Jews") to Jews being banned from the holiest of their sites.>>

Sonja
<<So what do *you* suggest? And what do you think will be the
consequences of implementing this suggestion in terms of peace and
prosperity?>>

*I* suggest that somebody will make Moslems to behave in civilized way.
<SHRUG> Is it possible without implementing force? I am not sure. But -
when Jerusalem was in Jordan hands only Moslems had freedom of worship
there. After 1967, when Jerusalem was re-united Christians and Jews were
able also to worship freely, till Moslems decided that Temple Mount is
their only and started shooting & throwing stones at Jews near Wailing
Wall and rioting every time that Third Temple group will try to enter
Temple Mount. To *my* eyes - Moslems are the ones that create problems.
They are guests in our capital city and are invited to behave
accordingly. Am I sorry that El-Aktza was not blown at 1967? I am.
