Jeroen <<Giving or not giving custody to the Palestinians has nothing to do with "making Muslims behave in a civilized way". These are two different matters. You can not change the overall behavior of people by giving them custody over a piece of land.>>
Ilana <<I agree, but I meant "making Muslims behave in a civilized way on Temple Mount". I am very glad that you understand that having it or not having it will not influence their attitude to Israel.>> Jeroen <<You misunderstood me. I said nothing about changing Palestinians' attitude towards Israel, I was saying that you can not change someone's overall behaviour by giving that someone custody over a piece of land. You can only get someone to change his mind by offering convincing arguments, not by giving him property.>> Ilana Temple Mount is not "property" it's "holly place". <SHRUG> You are saying that even if Palestinians will get all the land that they want, their attitude to Israel will not change, unless we will smile while jumping into the see. I am saying - I am glad you understand that. Ilana <snip> <<<I hope for transfer solution - other possible solution is war and this time don't stop, don't go back and don't take any prisoners.>> Jeroen <<Yikes. Deportation or genocide. Let me guess: if that becomes Israeli policy, you still expect the rest of the world to feel sympathy for Israel, right?>> Ilana <SIGH> We are tip-toeing in terrorist camps trying to spare civilian lives at cost of our soldiers' lives, five years old was killed in her bed, 10 month baby was killed by sniper - all in all about 500 dead, most of them civilians from the beginning of this intifada "the rest of the world", mostly, have no sympathy to us. So I see no reason to do something that "the rest of the world" is really disapproves off - we will be found guilty anyway. Jeroen<sarcasm> Hm, here is an other quite effective solution: blanket bomb every town and city in the Occupied Territories. Not all at once, because Israel probably does not have enough bomber planes for that, but just one at a time. Israel can continue to use its standard excuse about that town or city being a terrorist base. The world will be outraged of course, but that has happened before and I have yet to see Israel being concerned about what the rest of the world thinks. Harsh approach, but the most effective way to get rid of your "Palestinian problem" is by getting rid of the Palestinians. </sarcasm>>> Ilana This solution sounds smart to me, but even after *this* intifada, there is still no majority for it.
