My impression is that SH and his regime are *very* unpopular. Any invader will be welcomed as a liberator.
Three months later they might be truck-bombing the Zionist-Crusader Colonial Occupiers, but nearly everyone will be glad to see the back of SH. The Republican Guard may put up a defense of Baghdad out of sheer military professionalism, everyone else in uniform will defect and/or surrender at the earliest opportunity.
