Quite right. Let's actually read the foreign press, now and then. Any of you ever look at The Economist? One of the best international journals. Frank defectors who hate SH also claim that the US is deeply hated in Baghdad. There's plenty of hate to go around and one more piece of evidence is this... SH leaves his Baghdad population armed! Almost every home has an AK 47. SO let's not over-emphasize his unpopularity in the Sunni center. Streetfighting should be a last resort. Yet, that's our plan! ALl this cynical talk about 'reasons' for not breaking up Iraq ignore one thing. The Kurds and Shiites want nothing to do with Baghdad. They are our natural allies. They have all of SH's oil. They will kiss us in front of TV cameras. Choice One: Break up Iraq with almost no cost and get kissed and deny SH all his funds. Choice Two: Streetfight in downtown Baghdad and put SH in fear for his life, which is the ONLY time he will use WMD. This is a no-brainer. Which describes the present plan. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
