Glenn, Thanks for haven taking the time to discuss this. I truly understand that resources are limited at Sun; they are in my world as well. I guess I was unaware of the difficulty of creating the OpenSolaris install DVD since the SXCE DVD is available. My thought was it wouldn't be difficult, it just wasn't available.
I hate to compare (because I like Solaris), but if you install for example RedHat EL or Fedora, you get to choose which packages you want to install, you don't have to perform a base install then connect to the internet to obtain all the other packages. I do believe in the long run it would be to Sun's benefit to produce such an animal because corporations and government agencies who will pay for the support subscriptions would benefit from it.
