Dear Camdiscers: I've been searching various Chinese dialects for the word "uncle," but couldn't find the equivalent that Cambodians use, which is "hear" (spelling?). Does anyone know the proper spelling and which Chinese dialect it is? It would be great if someone could provide me with a list of Chinese kinship terminology that Cambodian-Chinese use. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
