Date - 07 /07/08 Day - Monday Start - Titchmarsh Lock End - Fotheringhay
Harnser's present position http://tinyurl.com/65v6g2 Radio 4 this morning gave the weather forecast as rain, hail, thunder and sunny intervals, was it worth getting out of bed? However we did and set off at 9-15am in bright sun, by 9-30 it was tipping it down and quite cool, however this didn't last to long and we escaped the rain for most of the day but it did get very dull and cool quite often. Not so much wildlife today but church towers, the first was Wadenhoe with a pitched roof on its tower, then Pilton amidst the Manor house and then several spires with windows in them so you can see right through them with finally Fotheringhay which has a octagonal tower. The water down here is not so clear as it was yesterday so less fish have been visible. We moored for the night at Fotheringhay at 3 pm, we have paid the farmer £3 for the privilege but he has driven mooring stakes in every 10 Mt. for about half a mile and was after his money in minutes of us tieing up. Once moored we went for a walk around the village, checking the pub out which does set price 2 and 3 course meals and visited the church returning to the boat just as it started raining again. -- Brian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Join SOW and help save our waterways http://www.saveourwaterways.org
