The weather forecast said showers but it looked good outside so we got
up and set of at 0815, just as it started to rain. The day continued
showery until mid afternoon.
We stopped to buy some diesel from Peterborough Yacht Club and enquired
about an overnight mooring. The said that if we didn't fancy
Peterborough we would be quite welcome to come back and moor for the
night and were overall very friendly. We continued into Peterborough to
do a bit of shopping at Asda as that is the most convenient place to
visit from the river. If you moor against the railings by the flats Asda
is right beside you. If you look carefully there is a gate in the
railings for access. After we finished shopping we carried on through
the town before turning round and heading back upstream for about a mile,
we then turned up a small arm on the right and ended up by the rowing
lake opposite The Boat pub.
