We set off just before 9 this morning, no showers as we are low on water.
Stopped at Hilgay EA moorings and found a water point hidden behind the
rubbish skip so filled up. Continued back to the Great Ouse and turned
left upstream and stopped for Sunday lunch with a pint of Adnams at
Littleport, we then carried on to the River Lark where we went up to
Prickwillow. The EA moorings were full so we attached the front rope to
the end bollard and the stern and centre lines to a couple of old posts.
The Prickwillow pumping museum is just over the road bridge from here so
we paid them a visit, unfortunately the engines weren't running today but
we were the only people there so had a quiet wander round before
returning to the boat. We were not sure whether to continue up stream
and once under the road bridge spotted a second EA mooring completely
empty. We decided to wind and head back down stream to the EA moorings
we had sen earlier and by the time we arrived the ones on the right were
empty. We moored with the bow and centre line to leave half the mooring
free for late arrivals. We had only been here about half an hour when
two cruisers turned up and used the other half of the moorings, I don't
expect they will stay over night and have just come for an evening BBQ.
