Yesterday we rescued a Fen Pheasant from Reach Lode, it was very wet and
mucky. We gave it a good wash and hung it on the tiller pin all day and
by tonight it had even got its voice back. (You will have to wait for
the web page for photos to explain this)
Tonight we are moored about 2 miles from last nights mooring but on the
Great Ouse at the mouth of Burwell Lode, but we have done a bit more
than this, we have been down into the heart of Cambridge and back.
Today it has been hot which makes a great change from the last couple of
weeks. We are moored outside The Five Mile pub, when we arrived at 5pm
we were the only boat here, we took the dog for a walk and when we
returned there are three cruisers, one with a duff overheating engine
and a wide beam about 50 foot long. They are on the pub jetty eating and
drinking G&T but have been nowhere near the bar yet.
