Harnser's present position
I'm glad we spent the night on the lock moorings rather than mooring
near the housing estate by the look of some of the youngsters mooching
about.
9-15 this morning and Tina had the lock ready for us, there were 3 boats
waiting to come to the Level as we left. Once back to the main river we
turned right to The Dog and Doublet where the Nene becomes tidal, there
are good 24 hr moorings just above the lock but the road is very close
and quite noisy. We walked down to the Dog and Doublet to have a look,
it is all closed up now. I don't know how long its been closed but it
has the NO Smoking its against the Law signs up. We headed back
upstream and did a bit of shopping at Asda with its very convenient
moorings. The next stop was the Peterborough Cruising Club to top up
with diesel, 190 lts. used on the Ouse and the Middle Level. We
continued upstream, by now it was getting very hot again and there were lots
of kids swimming at different bridges etc. but they were all OK and
caused no problems. We moored for the night by the Nene Vally Railway at
Wandsford at 1800 hrs
