A 'Poll' can be just that, it doesn't have to be destructive (or even 
discussed more than it is being at present) and if it is set up so that 
only the Owners/Moderators can see who has voted (and how) then - if we 
trust them, and I do - it will only show, to the rest of us, the 
preferences of those who are concerned enough to vote in the first place 
<g>.

Even a 'no vote' majority is useful (and most Polls will have that as 
the largest majority of all anyway, as up to 95% not bothering to vote 
is not at all uncommon on large groups), and then the angst can stop for 
ever if the group follows the wishes of the majority (subject always, of 
course, to final decision of the Owners and Moderators).
