I prefer the term "posting in context" to top or bottom posting...

I have to deal with both. My employers adoption of Exchange, Outlook
and Blackberrys means that posting in context is either misunderstood
or illegible when done. Personally, I prefer this method as it also
encourages the poster to snip unnecessary text when replying as well
as making it easy to answer several points without the reader having
to continually scan up and down the message to see what points were
being referred to.
