I guess my idea was to avoid having to do anything but change the impellor. But, of course, you are right. One of the "nice" things about the Oberdorfer is that the shaft can be pulled. Then you can take the circlip off above decks, in the sunlight, where dropping it means picking it up off the cockpit sole instead of fishing it out of who-knows-where in the bilge.
