Larry,

I wish I did use the anchor in salt water but I'm on an lake. Does that
mean we all have that problem with the anchor locker and a wet rode is just
everyday life on the water?

If you use your anchor in salt water a little fresh rain water to wash off
the rode is not a bad thing.

Subject: catalina27-talk: Anchor Locker

I've always had a problem with the lid on the anchor locker of my 83 C27
allowing rain to enter the locker keeping the anchor line almost constantly wet
and requiring I keep a close eye on any leaks into the cabin that might come
from that area. The weep hole is clear and I put a couple of short 2x4's in it
to raise the line but the real problem is the indention in the cover that
allows the rain in. I tried a rag to block it but it just acted like a wick.
I'll try a weather stripping attempt next but I'm sure there is a better idea
out there. Thanks Russ
