No, some of us also "get" to contend with very dark slimy mud if you don't
spend the time to clean the anchor each time you raise it.  The Chesapeake
Bay is known for its soft bottom and often absolutely black muck.  It gives
good holding ground, knock on wood, I have NEVER dragged once I set the
anchor, but it can be messy. It is like anchoring in heavily used motor oil.
And it is hard to remove from anything it touches.
