See if the other developer needs help (he probably does). If he does, drop
the old guys like a ton of bricks, because they are screwing you and they DO
know it. Dont fool yourself.
A month after you quit and the old guys need some work done...guess who come
to their rescue at much higher rates? ;-)

Subject: Frustration
Hi CF_Folks,
I'd like to think my problems were youth and navet, but I'm 29 and
spent 5 years in the military, 3 in university and 2 in college.
I'm really frustrated as a developing CF developer.
I'm working for a non-profit organization so I am getting peanuts (I'm
talking burger flipper wages). I can accept that (somewhat) because I
am fresh out of college and a relatively junior developer. However
they are now asking me to not only develop and maintain the sites but
to do sales of promotion on our sites to raise revenue. I am the only
developer for 8 domains and I also do all the graphics as well.
Am I wrong to say no to doing sales? What should I do here other than
look for another job (which I am doing)? I mean, these people are
shooting themselves in the foot as there is only one other CF
developer in the area that can do what I can do and he charges $95
CDN/hr to do it (I get $10). How do I let them know that without
sounding arrogant? This organization does great work that I believe
in, but they just can't seem to get it together with technology. Twice
they have advertised new website launch dates without letting me know
about it until that very day.
I'm no good at politicking, so any advice would be appreciated here.
Yours In Conservation,
Guy J. McDowell,
