Surely wages / availability of work are highly dependent on location - and
comments made by anyone, are only going to be relavant for a very small
subset of the community...

I very much doubt that any comments I made about the availability of work in
West Yorkshire, UK would relevent to anyone in the US...

   I've not had to drop rates to get work.  I've, actually, had to do very 
little work to get work.  Word of mouth is a great and wondrous 
thing.  Although, after Christmas, hiring always slows down.  I wish I had 
more time.
