> Let's examine Private Enterprise.
> Let's take roadworks.
Cost effective roads will exist where cost effective roads are needed. The
absolute laws of economics and free enterprise demand it. Follow the
biological development model of building a road network, and you will see
this is as plain as day. Everything is a continuum, and all laws,
enterprises, and actions are elements within it. Elements will shift as
elements collide, but the continuum protects itself through adjustment, such
as the lowering of prices through competition, people "voting with their
feet," etc.
> So in a Libertarian society, the Haves live..and the have nots die.The
Government never gets involved.
> Bloody Utopia.
You make a common mistake in assuming that Having and Not Having is a
zero-sum game, but it is not. Far from it. Wealth can be continually,
legally created by virtually anyone who really wants it, so long as the
government doesn't stand in the way.
The Haves get to have even more when there are more and more Haves around.
There is nothing more exciting to a Have than to see a Have Not make it
really big, just like he once did. It's almost like watching a loving
couple in the park experience their first kiss: you remember what it was
like for you, and it warms your heart. Haves get a kick out of creating
wealth. This may sound ridiculous to a person who didn't grow up in money
(I'm not assuming that you have or haven't-- I'm not only referring to you,
Gel, I promise), but one thing is true: it almost doesn't matter who gets
the wealth being created, whether it be the Have or the Have Nots he is
helping to become wealthy. Frankly, the Have doesn't really care much past
a certain point in his own wealth. Case in point, ask a self-made man if he
would take a billion dollars, tax free, no strings attached, and he'll be
insulted. If you know how wealth really works and how people work around
it, then you know exactly what I mean: the only money a successful man
considers as wealth is that which he created with his own mind and hands.
One of the reasons I started our advanced training courses was so that I
could use what I earned over the past twenty-plus years to assist others to
improve their lives by enabling them to earn more by in turn being worth
more to their employers or clients, and I kept the cost reasonable so that
by anyone's standards I was earning a fair wage for my efforts. And I'll
never stop. Better employees make better employers, who in turn hire more
and better employees, etc. We need more Haves all around the world.
Gel, it's very much like the human body, and money is like blood. It must
continually circulate, giving nourishment to all parts. For one appendage
to horde blood and restrict its flow to the others will cause atrophy of
those others and, eventually, make them gangrenous. This gangrene will
spread to the rest of the body and kill it -- right along with the appendage
that sought to horde the blood for itself and restrict its flow to others.
The entire body survives and strives when the whole of it thrives (I'm a
poet, and I didn't know it!).
> If you so believe in your Libertarian Ideals, how about if the Government
decides that anyone that wants, doesn't have to pay
> income tax, they just have to carry around a card stating this fact. And
there will be a charge associated with everything
> your taxes currently pay for.
Actually, an end-user-only sales tax of 25% maximum, collected at the point
of sale for all goods _and_ services (Internet purchases, too) and sent to a
centralized tax distribution system that parcels-out federal, state, and
municipal portions of the collected taxes, would work just fine. It would
also get people to think twice about what their taxes are being used for
when they see it coming out of their wallet at the time of purchase. No
personal or business deductions-- everyone pays the same rate, and you are
taxed based on consumption rather than income. And none of this so-called
"employer 'contribution'" crap-- because in reality you currently pay it
all; the fed just doesn't want you to see all of that money going toward
nothing you'll ever see, so they split it in two, hide half from you, and
say that your employer is paying for it. I still can't believe how many
people haven't figured this particular scam out yet!
> Want a cop to come to your house? There's a charge (Nothing in the
constitution to say that a government must protect you or
> your household,or keep you safe).
Have you actually read all of our Constitution and Bill of Rights? Things
not specifically provided for in the Constitution are under the jurisdiction
of the states.
> Want to send someone to Jail, you've got to pay to keep him there.
> Nothing to say government must take care of criminals either, that can be
handled by a private organisation.
This also falls under the jurisdiction of the states for non-federal crimes.
And they really _are_ best handled by private institutions.
> Do you see how ridiculous this gets, and why I say that these notions are
extremist in nature?
No, sir, I don't. Do you see my counterpoints? It is human nature for one
to never admit that he is wrong, because this makes him look fallible and
his survival instinct tells him that this will open him to vicious attack
(or ridicule, outside the jungle). I will never ridicule a man who
intelligently and openly discusses things with me, because that is
dishonorable.
> But don't take my word for it..check out a "country" and consitution based
upon the Libertarian principles which you follow.
Gel, I think someone is pulling your leg. "Oceania" is the name of the
INGSOC (INGlish [sic] SOCialism) nation that was the focus of the book
"1984." Please tell me that you're not taking these people seriously.
They're not taking themselves seriously. Some kids having a bit of fun with
3D modeling and such. It's all a big joke.
