Look,
The point I've been making, is that Corporations are concerned with making money.
Making more of it, while putting out as
little of it as possible.
Greed is a selfish, terrible thing that helps absolutely no one. You cannot base a way
of life, and a society on Greed and
expect it to grow and flourish! It will stunt itself and die in a few years time.
Greed exists today, but it is buffered by Government regulations and our society's
structure. Remove those regulations,
remove that structure and 'trust' companies to do 'what's right' is naive. Companies
will do what is right for THEM and their
owners and shareholders..and that's just what they SHOULD be doing!
Anyone that says I couldn't be bothered to give any part of what I earn to those in
need is selfish and self centered, and
this is something I keep saying about Libertarian philosophy. It is a selfish,
self-centered way of living and thinking that
seems designed for rich and well off White people to continue Infinitely in a position
of dominance over the rest of society.
In a Libertarian society which revolves around Greed and Wealth and the acquisition of
wealth above all else, there will be
next to zero chance for upward mobility for those that are born poor.
I don't buy for a minute that every rich person is going to be a philanthropist and
help those below them by their business
practices to acheive more wealth.Some might, but the majority will not!
What will result is a CLASS CASTE SYSTEM!
THAT is how human nature currently works, and THAT will be the result of a society
that seems to think rather naively and
irrationally that Wealth Breeds Wealth , relying only on the goodness of the human
heart like some Midas Touch. What? People
will suddenly change overnight in a Libertarian society????
I believe there was a survey a while back that polled owners and executives at Fortune
500 companies anonymously,and asked
them if there was no tax incentive to give to charity organisations whether they
would. YOu know what the unanimous response
was?
NO!
Saying that some things can be handled at a State level doesn't mean that these things
WOULD be handled at a State level,
there's nothing holding a State to provide health care , since the only way this could
be funded is through some form of
taxation.
I say again, the Libertarian philosophy is selfish and self centered, and poor people
and 'minority' groups would roll over
and die in such a society.
Because just as some on this list have said that they ***don't see why they should
have to give to anyone in need***, is the
same way that perhaps 90% of the population feels.
So those disadvantaged in society would literally roll over and die like crud on the
bottom of the $500 shoes of business
owners. I mean god..just thinking about it is like some Nightmare post apocalyptic
movie or something with "Outlanders" and
"Inner City" folk and crap.
That's the promise of a Libertarian society, and that's why I say that such a theory,
and Libertarian philosophies are
dreadfully flawed.
Mankind, a society, cannot move forward..cannot grow and expand and overcome our
problems until we learn to think beyond
ourselves, and to think on a broader scale that impacts all mankind.
Do I toss a cigarrette into dry brush because I can? Or do I think about those that
can be killed or made homeless should a
fire start?
Do I say hell no I'm not giving to a charity whether I can afford to or not, or do I
think about the poor and suffering that
depend on such services whom I can help?
Do we try to distribute food and resources to other countries and people in need, or
do we horde it all away for a rainy day.
These decisions CANNOT and WILL NOT be made at the highest levels of Government, until
WE The PEOPLE in the SOCIETY start
thinking that way..until WE WANT IT!
Until we COLLECTIVELY want an end to world hunger and famine, it will NOT HAPPEN!
Until we COLLECTIVELY want an end to these petty border struggles and religious
violence that happen worldwide, it WILL NOT
HAPPEN.
Until you solve the internal struggles of this PLANET you will never see Space and the
wonders out there.You will never
progress to the points of those prophets that expressed 'Star Trek'...
Libertarianism does NOT foster such thinking, it fosters only *I*,without thought to
morality, without thought to a Societal
Good and progression.
Only ME and MINE matter.
And if my neighbour suddenly ends up on the street, then screw him..Its His Own Damned
Fault.
Libertarianism is flawed.And THAT is why it will never progress and never hold a place
of great importance in people's minds,
or in the politics of any country in the world.That is why all Libertarian parties are
broken and fragmented and can never
agree on anything.
