They are great looking dogs! Of course you want to read up on them, but I suggest you also find a dog guru. There is just so much to know about dogs and breeds and owning a dog that you will benefit greatly from finding the best trainer/mentor you can possibly find to give you unbiased advice.
We adopted a dog that has some behaviour problems and the trainer we went to first was just out of her depth and it was a mess. If you find the right person they can help you get a dog that is perfectly suited to you. Or if you choose based on a personal aesthetic, then they can help you understand what you are choosing and what that will mean. You want someone with a lot of real world experience. They will help you make sure your puppy gets the kind of socialization it needs during the critical learning windows. They can also help you sort out truth from bs as there is a lot of the latter out there! Good luck with your dog venture and your married life adventure!
