My understanding is that the actual activation process won't require much at all - a simple key transfer. I hope this means that there isn't a Steam-powered delay in playing.
Of course it's all moot for me anyway as I live on the right of the map abd won't be playing tonight anyway... damn eastward rotation of the earth.
