I'm all for it! Legalize them all! That doesn't mean they should be
unregulated, but I'm fully for legalization of all drugs, gambling,
prostitution, etc. I firmly believe that you can't legislate
morality, but that doesn't mean you can't make it expensive and
uncomfortable to participate in self-destructive behaviors.

For example, cigarettes: legal, but regulated and taxed. Hardcore
drugs could be limited to "needle parks". But none of this is a
federal issue - it's a state issue. Let's let our nation's R&D
department (the states) experiment with it and see what's best. What
business is it of the federal gov't? This goes for abortion, gay
marriage, and all other "morality" issues.

Social engineering has NEVER worked and it's obvious failure is one of
reasons some people in this country (a dwindling amount?) believe in
state's rights and local gov't.

Loss of liberty always begins with some federal authority trying to
help: "Hello, I'm Matt, I'm from the federal gov't and I'm here to
help you."

AHHHHHHHHH! RUN! RUN! AHHHH!
