First, IANAE, but a 220 outlet should be easy to convert to a 110. 
You could buy a 'dryer' cord, outlet box & 110 socket at Home depot. 
You'll have 4 leads on the 220 cord, 2 hot phases, common & 1 ground. 
You should have 1 red, 1 white, 1 black, 1 green/bare. You need to
tape off 1 hot phase (red or black) then connect the other phase, the
common and the ground to the 110 socket. Voila!
