I promise I'm not trolling, but why? Do you just want to try it out? Do you need to test out sites for clients with Macs? Do you want to make it easier for your wife/mother/kids to put together DVD slideshows?
Those are all (semi-)good reasons to get a Mac, but for that amount of grip you could pick up a killer PC rig that would blow the pants (or jeans) off of the Mac, and not have to deal with any software wrangling. It might not be an all-in-one machine. But the only Mac I would buy right is a laptop, b/c they're "kewl", or I'd wait for a Mac/Intel box that'll be out in 6-9 months. That box you have your eye on is about to become part of ancient history. (Even the leaked OS X that people have rigged on a PC through VMWare is faster than on similar Apple's hardware.) ....but if you have your mind/heart set on it, go for it. I will not stand in the way of human technological contentedness, it's your right damnit!
