I would say it is bad luck for them, unless they can prove you somehow miss 
represented the condition of the vehicle.

Not sure if it applies, but in my one trade in experience, the condition of my 
car was irrelevant, the trade in value was simple a tool for them to 
"negotiate" the sale price without changing the actual price.  Whenever I 
balked at the price of the vehicle we were discussing my trade in value went 
up.  I ended up getting far more trade in then the vehicle could possible have 
been worth.
