Well, considering they have to buy gas more often, did don't they already. If you get the numbers out, the issue is on pounds per square inch. A full size SUV like the Excursion has a larger tire so its weight is spread out more than a smaller car like a corolla.
The amount of wear on the road is determined based on factors like that. In general because the SUV purchases more gas, it makes up for any more damage it does. There were some numbers I posted to this list several months ago that showed that some smaller cars, including hybrids actually put more weight per square inch on the road than s vehicle like the Ford Explorer. > -----Original Message----- > From: Dana [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Sunday, November 27, 2005 7:02 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: Higher Taxes for Hybrids > > if that's the standard then don't you think unnecessarily big > behemoths should pay more taxes? > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| All-in-one: antivirus, antispam, firewall for your PC and PDA.
