What I'm saying is that the US has been the greatest force for good
this world has ever seen.  Period.  That doesn't mean it's without
flaw, but it does mean that it's guaranteed all of our freedom to do
what we choose.

Without a doubt every western country owes its freedom to the US. 
Arguably every country in the world does.

Think of the US like electricity: it's dangerous, it can be somewhat
unpredictable, it can kill without warning or provocation for
seemingly no reason.  Sometimes when you need it most, it's not there.
 But 99% of the time it's working for you.  Silently, in the
background, it's there to back you up, to keep you warm, to keep you
safe, to make your meals, to help you work.

[grabs flag, steps to top of hill, looks nobly to the distance]

Cause I'm proud to be an American!  Where at least I know I'm free ...
