I just realized I skipped this: >But why does one person have more of a right to live than somebody else to >drive unsafe? Gay marriage may not harm you, but some think it will harm >them. If somebody thinks two men being married does harm to the community, >they will act on that. society.
Are you seriously asking this question? Why should someone's right to live supersede someone's right to live? The idea of laws is to protect the citizens, from faud, from death, from other governments. I would like to know why you think someone should be allowed to drive unsafely if there is a good chance it could end someone's life. You have the right to do anything you want as long as you don't interfere with my rights. Some may "think" that it harms them, just like some people thought that integration would hurt them. It's an untruth based on feelings rather then a fact based upon research. They can act on it all they want, but I think it should be up to those with an open mind to realize that we are no better than any of those countries we are occupying that oppress part of their civilization. You may not want to admit it, but we are oppressing part of our population who want nothing more than to express their love for their mate like the rest of the population can do at any time.
