Illegal immigrants are not taking jobs from Americans, that argument is a canard. People come from Mexico, etc. and go whereever they can in the country to find work. If work is in DC, they go to DC. If work is in Seattle, they go to Seattle. If work is in Idaho Falls, they go to Idaho Falls. And they go to work low skill, low wage jobs that almost no one wants, in part because the jobs are bad jobs, but in part because the jobs are not in the right location. How many Americans do you see moving halfway across the country and living in a shack in the sticks, maybe in a crowded place with other people like them, in order to make $10/hr washing cars, tending lawns, or doing construction work? Maybe they would move, if the job paid $40K a year plus benefits, but that just isn't going to happen.
