I think the issue is that she did it as part of her job as mayor not as a person - its like the teacher thing - the teacher is welcome to preach but it interferes with her job to do it in the classroom to her class of students. As the mayor to write such a thing on city letterhead perhaps interferes with her job as mayor.
I am considering if thats a violation of her constituents rights or not - --Beth, Pseudo usenet cop Merlin MTB, BikeE AT, RANS gliss, Trek R200, Kickbike Owned by Kavik (Samoyed Boy) and Toklat (Keeshond Boy) Anchorage, Alaska ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nick McClure" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2002 12:22 PM Subject: RE: Church and State > Very interesting, but because it is not a law or policy, how is it a > violation of church and state? > > People are able to say what they feel, it just so happens it was the mayor. > > At 02:25 PM 1/29/2002 -0500, you wrote: > >Speaking of Separation of Church and State, > > > >http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/01/29/town.satan/index.html > > > >Any comments??? > ______________________________________________________________________ Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
