I goofed. I was thinking of Bombardment. In Bombardment, one team is on
one side of the gym, and the other team has the other half. You can
move anywhere on your side but you cannot cross the center line. It
starts with the PE teacher putting the ball and half court and then
blowing the whistle. Then it's a mad dash for that ball. If you get
hit, you're out. If someone catches your throw, then you're out. We
would always play with 2 or more balls so you really have to pay
attention. Dodge ball, where I come from, you stand with your back to
the wall and either dodge the balls being thrown at you or you can try
to catch it so you can switch positions with the person who threw it at
you. Again, we generally played with multiple balls. Smear the queer
was a blast! Totally one sided but I remember getting winded just
because I couldn't stop laughing! It just ended up as a big wrestling
match.

Good times!

If there were only a few of us we wouldn't play teams, it would be
every
  man for him self.

When not in school we enjoyed playing smear the queer. Now that is an
  un-sporting game.
