not from the books I've read.  Most of them say that aerobic is great
for losing weight, but lifting weights can actually be better.  They
explain it this way, loss from aerobic workouts stops at the end of
the workout.  Loss from lifting weights may not burn as many calories
during the workout, but as you build muscle mass, the muscles use more
calories even relaxed.
