I have been fortunate. My children have gone to "good" daycares/preshcools and didn't spend a lot of time there. I drop them off between 8 and 9 and my wife picks them up between 3 & 4. Pretty short day compared to a lot of kids in daycare. The only ill effect I can think of is kindergarden. My daugher was bored out of her mind in kindergarden because she had seen here abc's and numbers so much in daycare/preschool.
On a side note, this quote is interesting: ". . children who spend large amounts of time in child-care centers exhibit more minor behavior problems, such as aggression and disobedience, . . ." The disobedience is certainly not a good thing, but I am not so sure that it is bad to be agressive.
