Ah yeah, as someone with small dogs myself, it is frustrating to hear that 
people get that kind of information. Dogs get bored being in the same 
surroundings all the time, just as people do! They do so much better if they 
are taken out regularly, whether to a dog park, obedience class, whatever. 
There's just more to having a happy, relaxed dog than just physical 
exercise...just like with kids, they do best with mental challenge as well! Not 
that another companion for your dog is a bad idea...but it's no substitute for 
spending time yourself with them, and certainly is not likely to help with the 
problems as you describe them.

That's pretty good exercise and lots of fun. The more you can do in the morning 
before leaving her as well the better. Even if it's just throwing a ball for 
her while having breakfast. ;-)

LOL, go-to-ground is what these terrier-type breeds do...hunt for rats and 
other vermin. There's all different groups and types of GTG trials...AKC 
actually has trials specifically for dashies:
