Well, then you come back to a definition of evidence. For me, evidence is what I have observed and studied about the universe, etc.
For others, evidence is a personal experience where the person feels God has directly touched their lives, possibly through a miracle. I do not discount that sort of faith as irrational. The evidence is more personal and less provable in any manner a scientist would accept, but it's still evidence to the person who has made that leap of faith. I believe God reaches people who open their hearts to belief through whatever method might be most appropriate for that person. Of course, the less your rely on external evidence, the more likely you are to make an irrational decision. There are people, I believe, who have some sort of faith without any sort of rational reason for such belief. Faith, then, is not necessarily rational, it's just that it is not necessarily irrational. I believe faith without evidence IS irrational - its faith because its based on something other than evidence. Proof is like FACT - a rare occurance, IMO. ______________________________________________________________________ This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
