Gel, We went for 7 days in 2005 and stayed at the Crowne Paradise All Inclusive. It was a family resort but we had no problems at all. We took a tour to Chichen Itza (http://www.cancuntoday.net/ruins/chichen.php) and even walked down to the local market.
All Inclusive is great. All the food and drinks you want.
