I would seriously consider Cozumel instead, simply because it's quieter for the most part (most of the partiers hit Cancun -- but that may be what you're looking for).
Cozumel is just as close and cheap (it's an island off the coast directly across from Cancun), there are wonderful restaurants in the only town on the island, good shopping, and spectacular all-inclusive resorts. My husband and I stayed at the Iberostar on Cozumel and loved it. Seven day, 6 night all-inclusive w/ airfare for under $3K (think it was actually more around $2k). Snorkeling, horseback riding, Mayan ruins, day trips to Chichen Itza, a great natural water park where you can swim with dolphins, some of the best scuba diving in the world (and Iberostar will give you lessons and take you out on all-day scuba excursions) ... the best white sand beaches .... good food It was a very, very fun trip. But the few times we went over to the mainland for day trips or whatever, it seemed way more touristy, more "busy", more loud ... I don't know, Cozumel just seemed a better place to relax and explore. -----Original Message----- From: G Money [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2008 7:26 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: In case you were thinking about it, don't go to Mexico Phew!!! Glad to hear it...i'd never heard anything bad about Cancun until this thread started. I've never been, and my wife wants a vacation somewhere warm, so we were thinking Cancun because it's close and cheap. You can get a nice 4 or 5 star all inclusive without breaking the bank.
