Now that sounds like a great vacation to me. I don't especially like
resorts. The timeshare resorts we have done have been good experiences, but
mostly because it is so unlike a regular resort. Basically you get an
apartment with 2-3 bedrooms, a kitchen, etc. and you live more like you
would live at home than at a hotel.

I also like doing the vacation rental thing where you rent a house or flat
from someone instead of staying at a hotel. Again, it feels more like normal
living than being at a hotel, and it gives you an opportunity to experience
the flavor of daily life.
