We ate fairly well to begin with, so it's really not been a huge adjustment. Mostly, I've given up my frosted shredded wheat and my lactose free ice cream and my tortilla chips. My husband misses pretzels. But, overall, it's been fairly easy to do and we both are feeling great (well, minus the digestive system adjusting to a big increase in the fruit and veggie load). One thing I've realized is that my sodium intake has really dropped off. Strange thing is, I'm MORE thirsty. I wonder if salt was helping me retain water before and now I need to keep replenishing. And, my husband and I are both noticing smells more. Maybe it's just placebo effect stuff, but it's weird, none-the-less.
Best part? The quantity of food I'm eating has gone up, but I'm losing weight because the caloric density of the food has gone down. On Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 12:20 PM, Erika L.
