LOL No, I've just been otherwise occupied. Being an in-house
programmer and not having projects or clients to work on is an
interesting environment that I'm still getting adjusted to.

Point 1: "You can tell her no (or slap her, etc)." Sure I could, but
then I'd be accused of being just like my father-in-law and have to
deal with the family ramifications (that reverberate into my home)
from it.

Point 2: "It's a bad business model / there's no profit in it."
Thanks for the info - I plan on talking with her about that aspect of
it. The reason she 's looking at this as a solution comes from a
number of avenues:
a) We're in a relatively rural area. The closest "big box" store is
25 miles away, there aren't any computer stores with inventory in a 30
mile radius outside of Office Max or Wal Mart. The only stores in
town are a small grocer (IGA), a hardware store and one convenience
store.
b) Adding any additional income stream will help her base business
increase in profitability. As I said, her store sells used books,
rents videos and is a drop off point for dry cleaning services and I
think she's talked about shipping as well.
c) With gas prices where they are, people are less willing to drive to
get things if they don't have to. The kiosk idea blends a human face
that locals know with the ability to locally purchase products that
would normally require a drive.

Erika, I especially appreciate your comments on the fact that I boiled
down to, "you'll get out of it what you put into it." The more work
that she/I do for the site the better chance it has of being picked
out of the crowd. Thing is that part of this deal would include me
blogging about items purchased, deals coming up, etc, and promoting my
blog and the site appropriately.

Thanks also to MaryJo, I knew CFWS had good drop-shipper
integration... and to Maureen for the Innotrac link.

I've had some success in stopping some of the more hair-brained ideas.
My questions this morning are a part of my research for what I'm
going to go back to her with. That said, she's a big girl and can
make her own decisions and she may decide to go through with it.

Thanks again,
Hatton
