No, not really.  Jesus said that following him would be hard. Many people
died because of it and are dying today as well.

You wouldn't be the first -- this is one of the oldest arguments.....

Because many of us believe that when we open ourselves up to God, then he
will bless us with the knowledge, strength, etc to deal  with our daily
lives that without him, would be quite different.  I have seen many people's
lives totally changed for the better when they bring God back in.

That's a good way to put it.   I look at it this way -- when Tim Berners Lee
(or Al Gore) created the web, did he intend for people to use it for porn,
nazi, or racist sites?  Should we blame them for the crap we see on the web?
(well, maybe Al Gore....)
