Update... Just talked to my realtor, and we're scheduled to close on Wed. Fingers crossed.
The issue my HOA had with my buyer was that apparently a grandparent was going to be living with them. As mentioned, the CC&Rs state that the home can only be occupied by immediate family. "Immediate family" is not clearly defined there, but I'll assume they mean mommy/daddy/children. Now... I get why HOAs can be a good thing. I understand what they stand for. I even understand them wanting to preserve a particular lifestyle for the residents of the community and not open it up to having homeowners rent rooms to friends. But really... there's the letter of the law and then there's the spirit in which the law was written. Did they really need to give my buyers a hard time over a grandparent living with them? On top of that... my realtor asked if I had a copy of the CC&Rs that I could overnight to the buyers. I said sure... but they're 4 years old. Can't you just get a new one from the HOA? Turns out he asked... but the HOA said that the CC&Rs clearly state that the seller must provide a copy of the CC&Rs to the buyer. If the HOA were to provide a copy, it would cost $95. Again... isn't this just a bit stupid? No. It's a whole lot of stupid wrapped up in fucking insanity. In this case, it's a bunch of senior citizens who (I believe) got pushed around in life, and now that they've got some semblance of authority, they exercise the hell out of it just... because... they can. Fucktards. -- I have failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my life. I love my wife. And I wish you my kind of success. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:289173 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
