If they are in the Taliban they are extremists. Period. If they are an associated tribe that isn't actually members then every effort should be made to return them to the national fold. Otherwise fucking kill them.

And that I feel that the narrative the Michael introduced around Afghanistan (specifically potentially moderate elements of the Taliban) is unhelpful and ill informed and that the only way his world view is going to be supported in that situation is a thoroughly artificial situation where the complications of the real world are drawn away. I do not presume to tell Michael what to think, nor you. I do not believe I ever have. If so, I apologize. I will most certainly tell you when I fundamentally disagree with your expressed views however, list owner or not. If that is an offense which suggests I be removed, well, then there you go.
