See now I know you don't know shit. The Taliban has associated tribes, some of them with warring histories that go back centuries. Mainly these are along the boarders with Pakistan.
However if you actually knew the history you would know there are many more that aren't with the talib douche nozzles. Why were we able to invade and dump the Taliban in a month? Well it was because of the associated tribes of the Northern Alliance, and the animus that many there felt towards the Talibans even harsher rules (no music, no smiling, all men must have beards). Shit Kabul has bars and stuff. Don't go to kandahar though. Do me a favor and look up some of this history before you run off at the mouth. If not for the assassination of Massoud that country would be totally different. Look into the pashtuns and talibs and the great game. This shit isn't new man, if not for the Northern forces our SF, CIA and SMU units would have gotten stomped. Instead less than 500 gomers jumped or flew in, rode horses and donkeys to fight tanks and did some shit you could never even begin to fucking grasp. Some bitch from a non-profit ain't gonna change my mind with stories that sound like bull shit, even at second hand. -----Original Message----- From: Judah McAuley [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, March 09, 2009 1:42 AM To: cf-community Subject: Re: is this true - Obama hinting at negotiating with the Taliban? Who do you think are in charge of the tribes in Afghanistan? You're saying that quote "there are no moderate elements".I'm saying that you are full of shit and don't know what you are talking about. I read your email. The world is a complicated place and you don't seem to understand that. The Taliban is part of most of the tribes of Afghanistan. It is a very conservative faction. There are plenty of people that identify with parts of the Taliban teachings and do not identify with others. I didn't say anything about Muslims in general, I did not accuse you of hating them. I really don't think you do. I was specifically speaking to the tribes of Afghanistan and saying that your vitriol was ill-informed and prejudicial. You do not know what you think you know. The situation is frequently ugly and dire. I am not denying that. However, there are areas in which progress can be made. Moderates exist. Even in groups that you might tag as "Taliban". I never said that you were against Muslims nor did I say that you were against Afghanistan. But for you to present the terrorist elements of the Swat Valley as "Taliban moderates" shows an obvious bias that has come through on any number of other posts. I don't want to see accommodation of the extremist elements of the Taliban. I want a stable, peaceful, democratic government in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I'm disheartened by the accord between the central government in Pakistan and the war lords of the Swat Valley. None the less, your charge that "there are no moderate elements" is dishonest and prejudicial and hurts the cause of trying to find common ground in the region and bring substantial lasting change. If you think I'm a dick, that's why. I want people to succeed there and I don't feel you are doing anything to contribute to that..quite the opposite in fact.
