Look how well that worked with CAFE standards. SUVs are classified as trucks and therefore exempt. Try to buy a station wagon and you pay dearly. You tell people what they can and can't buy and they find a way around. You could easily label it commercial.
I personally spent hours looking up the most energy and water efficient washer, dryer and dishwasher versus cost. I didn't check the refrigerator, just picked one out that fit my needs in the showroom and made sure it had the energy star sticker. If it didn't have that sticker I would have moved on. On a side note, don't ever buy a Kenmore anything, especially a fridge :0 On Thu, Jul 30, 2009 at 7:53 PM, Zaphod Beeblebrox<[email protected]> wrote: > > and therefore were getting these extremely efficient appliances. > Sure, they're more efficient than previous models, but how much more > efficient would they be if there were some standards in place. > > I still maintain that if you let the consumer dictate the efficiency > of appliances it will go nowhere, afterall, when I go to lowes.com and > look for refrigerators, the only efficiency filter I get on the web > site is Energy Star rated or not.
