Using your wallet analogy. Let's say there is $100 in the wallet - left
out
in the open. Somebody wanders by and scoops the money. Who's
responsible?
Let's say that $100 is mine on loan to you. Who's responsible?

Not my analogy, but I would be responsible to pay you back, however not
responsible that someone took the money. Am I responsible if someone
breaks into my car and steals it and runs over someone. Nope. They
are. Would I be responsible if I gave them the keys. Nope. Now if I
gave them they keys knowing they were incapacitated somehow then you
might be able to assign some blame to me.

But you ARE responsible for your OWN actions.

I don't want to get into the morality of the thread, but there are two
parties involved in the distribution of illegal materials. Period.

guilt or wrong doing by another party does not absolve responsibility.
