In 2010 according to the Jewish Databank (http://www.jewishdatabank.org/Reports/World_Jewish_Population_2010.pdf) in 2010 there were approximately 13,428,300 jews in the world. Of that 13 million, just under 6 million (5,608,900) are in Israel. The remaining, (7,739,600) are outside of Israel. There was a -.2% decrease since the last census of the Diaspora and 1.7% increase in Israel. Are you saying that if almost 45% of a population were eliminated that would not have an impact? When there is around1 jew per 1000 people of other ethnic/religious groups. I don't know where you took a course in population statistics, but I'd go for a refresher.
Secondly what land was taken. During the 1948-1949 War of Independence, aside from a few incidences the Palestinians left voluntarily in response to Arab propaganda - look it up. Lets also not forget about such minor things like the Holocaust, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Balfour Declaration. So you have no trouble justifying a gunman holding a child to protect himself. Very interesting. Or is that just a specialcircumstance. What about a Nazi SS officer using concentration camp prisoners to give him cover to kill more allied soldiers. Or someone robbing a bank and holding a kid as a hostage. What is the moral difference with these cases? You have no problem it would appear justifying the killing of Israeli civilians, but decry the killing of a Hamas gunman. As for no military. What the heck do you call these armed groups: Hamas, Palestine Islamic Jihad, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP),Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command (PFLP-GC). Hamas has between 20,000, and 25,000 armed soldiers. PIJ, several thousand (numbers vary between 1 and 3,000 depending on whose propaganda you read), AAMB - about 3 to 8 thousand, PRC ~1000. I could go on, but you get the idea. Several of these groups also have significant ties to Hezbollah and Iran. So you could include their support if it came down to it. The point is that these groups are the army of the Gaza and West Bank. Moreover all this crud doesn't have to happen. While the current government of Israel is reluctant to negotiate, these Palestinian groups kill those who want to seriously negotiate with the Israelis. Remember the central tenant of this organization is the total destruction of Israel, http://www.thejerusalemfund.org/www.thejerusalemfund.org/carryover/documents/charter.html. Mind you they also seem to be pissed off at the the Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, and the Lions Clubs - seriously its in their charter. Why they don't like a bunch of old guys who like to dress up in weird clothing is beyond me. On Fri, Nov 16, 2012 at 4:48 PM, Eric Roberts <[email protected]> wrote: > > Not much left of Judaism?
