Whites generally. If someone else picks it out and matches it with a meal then a red is good, but if I just go buy something I generally can't stand it. I usually go with a Pinot Grigio unless I'm having lobster or salmon or so and then it's Chardonnay for the buttery complement. We also have a local winery, Wollersheim, that makes what they call Prairie Fume that seems okay. I haven't died from it yet. Haven't had a blush in over 10 years, and I'm pretty sure last time I had it that it was from a box. Ros I know nothing about.
I usually end up just buying for the label. Ravenswood and Frog's Leap are graphically nice. -Kevin > -----Original Message----- > From: William Bowen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2003 4:35 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: Assimilated > > > Kevin -- > > Ah, well then, I'd say stick to the ~$10 - $15 region and you > should be fine. :-) > > "Drinkable" and "pleasant" white wines: Sauvignon Blanc, > Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio (same grape but Italian) > > All very light and fruity, good for a hot day. > Generally the winery doesn't matter, pick something up and try it. > > If you can find the Matthews (Woodinville, WA) Sauvignon > Blanc I recommend it highly.
