A great way to start!! I did/do the same. It's very rare that I buy only 
one bottle.

I store my champagne in the bottom of my regular racks generally on its 
side, close to the floor is a couple degrees cooler in my basement. 
Extended cooling actually reduces the life of the wine, so be cautious. 
Try to only chill champagne on the day that you'll drink it.
